Frequently Asked Questions about Craft Glue

What is the best craft glue for fabric and textiles?

For textiles, we recommend flexible glues such as PVA craft glue or fabric-safe adhesive glue. These options dry clear and stay flexible after curing - perfect for fabric, felt, and mixed media.

Can craft glue be used for heavy materials like wood and metal?

Yes, E6000 glue is a strong, industrial-grade adhesive perfect for bonding heavy materials like metal, wood, and ceramics. For lighter woodcraft, PVA also works well.

Is PVA craft glue safe for children?

Absolutely. PVA craft glue is non-toxic, washable, and ideal for school or home use. It’s a popular choice for children's arts and crafts projects.

How long does craft glue take to dry?

Drying times vary:

  • PVA craft glue: 30 minutes to 1 hour (full cure in 24 hours)
  • E6000 glue: Tack in 10 minutes; full bond in 24–72 hours
  • Glue sticks: Set within second

About Arbee Craft

The Arbee Business began in 1902. The owner Mr. R.B.Stevens, a leather merchant, started the business to sell his leather items.

The original Arbee business, shop and factory, was in Swanston Street, Melbourne.

By the 1930s Arbee had expanded to make the famous Arbee moccasins. These became well known as they had durable cowhide on the outside and a layer of lambswool on the inside. Arbee made the moccasins for many years and the kits were very popular in the 1960s and 1970s. During this time Arbee diversified with some other products that were popular e.g. cane items.
