How to make a lampshade in 5 easy steps

Step 1: Measure and cut your lampshade paper or fabric - Measure the height and circumference of the lampshade frame rings and add an extra inch to each measurement. Use scissors to cut the lampshade paper or fabric to the correct size.

Step 2: Attach the lampshade paper or fabric to the rings - Starting with one end of the lampshade, attach double-sided tape along the top and bottom edges of the rings. Carefully attach the paper or fabric to the tape, smoothing out any wrinkles or bubbles as you go.

Step 3: Overlap the edges - Once the paper or fabric is securely attached to the top and bottom rings, overlap the edges of the paper or fabric and attach them together using double-sided tape.

Step 4: Trim any excess - Use scissors to trim any excess paper or fabric from the top and bottom edges of the lampshade.

Step 5: Decorate your lampshade frame using beads and trims. For fabric and paper lampshade creations, we recommend using our adhesive lampshade paper which adds stiffness to fabrics and insulates the light globe from making the shade too hot.

Step 6: Attach your lampshade to the lamp base - Attach the lampshade to the lamp base using the appropriate hardware, and your lamp is ready to use!
